We offer bargain fares.
Since February 1st, 2008, a new tariff structure applies.
The duration of a taxi ride has become irrelevant.
When the global distance to the client's destination has been determined, the price for the ride can be calculated in advance. The distance to major attractions and important destinations must now be clearly indicated on information signs at taxi stands.
Street taxis must carry their rates in full view on the outside of the car. Many taxis carry a rates table card behind their window. Thus, you can compare rates between offerers. Since February 1st, 2008, legibility regulations have been tightened. Rates must be visible from a minimum distance of 5 metres.

Some examples:
- You wish to make a short ride of 2 kilometres or less. The price can then be no greater than € 7,50.
- You make a ride of, for instance, 5 kilometres; at a boarding tariff of € 6,50 and a kilometre tariff of € 1,90, the price becomes € 6,50 + 3 x € 1,90 = € 12,20.
For some longer rides standard rates apply. You then do not have to pay the amount the meter indicates, but the price that was declared and/or published beforehand. Arranging a price with the driver on the spot is not allowed. Bargaining is not allowed.
The driver can charge for waiting if you ask him to before the ride starts. As for instance when waiting after a visit to a bar, or when a meeting runs late. The charge for this form of waiting must be agreed upon, with you, beforehand. Waiting time is registered by the meter. A maximum tariff has been established to protect you, as a customer, from overly high rates. |
